Hi. 👋

I am JayVii, a data enthusiast with a passion for Free and Open Source Software. I care about social inclusion & privacy. This is my personal Fediverse server, powered by ktistec. I modified its appearance with my own adjustments.

I typically remove shared posts after ca. 3–6 months. I do keep most of my own posts (for now).

I post about a variety of topics, both in German and English, such as:

I also developed a few tiny & simple self-hostable tools to ease my life (and that of others), such as:

You can find out more about myself on my website or in my introduction post.

@toddsundsted I noticed my ktistec instance being a lot slower since the last update, which reminded me of issue 96, however the SQLite static version in the docker image is very recent and should not be effected of the bloom filter issue (SQLite3 version 3.45.3). Not really sure if this warrants an issue, but I do see a few REALLY slow queries in the logs slower than 18000.000ms. Did you notice something similar on a "direct" / non-docker install?

A nice wintersalat for dinner! Lamb's lettuce, carrots, black salsify and small vegetable patties #vegan

I am currently looking at hardware tokens for multi factor authentication, such as #Yubikey. I am not sure what's the state-of-the-art in that area, does anyone have any suggestions to read up upon and decent alternatives to yubikey? #MFA #2FA #security #SecOps

Man möchte guten Journalismus schließlich würdigen.

#Frust

The recipe said "onion cake", but to be honest, this was basically pizza with smoked tofu, onions and a silken tofu sauce. Super delicious though! #vegan

Some time this week people on here were posting their .opml files (exports of feeds, blogs and websites they were following with their #RSS reader).

I took a few hours today to go through many of those blogs and found quite interesting, quirky and delightful sites.

I already read quite interesting or entertaining thoughts of many people from all over the world today, but the "blog" category in my news reader is still overflowing with unread blog posts right now. So still lots to read in the coming few weeks

Looks like #MetaGer also implemented #Google queries via https://serper.dev/ now. It costs only 1 token per request, which is the same as #Brave and #Mojeek. Let's see how the search results turn out with this.
