tiny rant about mobile network operator contract schemes...

Terminating your contract with a mobile network operator in Germany is ridiculous...

You need to
1. "prebook" the termination of the contract online,
2. call them via phone to confirm,
3. being confronted with some call-center agent* who tries to guilt-trap you to stay in your contract for full 10 minutes with phrases like "it's honestly not a smart decision to switch to another company" or "it is really, really sad to see someone make a bad decision", dismiss your wish to terminate the contract while also trying to call you out for not having payed all invoices yet (they use SEPA automatic bank transfer every month on the 19th, so I am not late on anything at all, nor do I appoint the payment - they do)

I rate #simplytel 0/5, this feels like a complete scam.

* While that person was extremely rude during the whole conversation and especially from the point on that I ensured, that I REALLY want to terminate and I do not care what they may offer, I blame the company rather than the person. I am sure the call-center agents have to fulfill some quotas and may even be monitored constantly

an unexpected day without work, so let's check out #DebianBookworm before official release ;)

Bummer. The new #helixEditor release finally has softwrap and other really nifty features, but as long as I am on #DebianBullseye, I cannot upgrade due to incompatible glibc versions :/

One more reason to look forward to #DebianBookworm

What's the current trend in #immutable #Linux desktops? I've been following developments of #Fedora silverblue and #OpenSuse MicroOS, bit haven't found an afwul lot of user experiences for day-to-day desktop usage. Anyone out there with insights or recommendations?

First flight in 17 years went surprisingly smooth. And now for a few days of holidays 鉁岋笍

Fediverse! Where do you buy #audiobooks? Preferably #DRM-free. I am looking for audio|#books in #german & #english

Twitter's new "For You" page is 1/3 tweets and retweets from your mutuals, 1/3 random tweets your mutuals have commented on and 1/3 just completely random tweets from accounts nobody you know is even following. It is astonishing to watch the downhill climb that platform is doing over the past few months.

How come that after all these decades, innovations and fancy solutions, the most accessible and most reliable way to do #backups is freaking zip/tar with low compression onto an external network drive... #linux

My #FP4 got updated to Android 12. Not sure I like the look of it. Also, I truly miss #phosh... Though I did hear that GNU/Linux is coming for the FP4, so we'll see ;)
