I've been in the fediverse since 2017 already, however with the recent growth in users and the switch to my own instance, I figured it is time for an #introduction.
I am a #Statistician and #DataScientist from Germany. I am also passionate about Free and #OpenSource #Software and am deeply involved in hosting, developing and advocacy of privacy friendly FOSS tools.
Besides above two topics, I share posts & ramble myself about #politics in Germany and the EU, #feminism, #veganism, #selfhosting, #rstats, #linux and whatever is currently happening. Posts are typically in English, shares are often in German as well.

Gleichzeitig werden Rufe nach einem kostenlosen OpenDesk für Universitäten laut.
Mein Vorschlag: Wir nehmen digitale Souveränität ernst – nicht nur reden, sondern handeln! Wir erarbeiten einen Plan, wie wir die öffentliche Verwaltung in den nächsten Jahren auf Freie Software umstellen können, und schnüren ein Paket von 481 Mio. Euro pro Jahr, die dann in die deutsche/europäische Open-Source-Wirtschaft fließen. Ich bin mir sicher, da kann man dann auch die Universitäten mit reinpacken... Problem gelöst... Deal? 🤔💡
Schleswig-Holstein macht es vor und kann dem Bund bestimmt den einen oder anderen Tipp geben.

Sarkastischer Kommentar zur Teilzeitdebatte der Union
Bzgl des fast schon menschenfeindlichen & realitätsfernen Vorstoß der sog. Mittelstands- & Wirtschaftsunion zur Abschaffung des Rechts auf Teilzeit: dann aber wenigstens auch in beide Richtungen, da freut sich der akademische Mittelbau an deutschen Universitäten, wenn 50% & 65% Stellen zukünftig auf 100% augestockt werden müssten.

Because I have been reading discussions lately about blocking shared posts and sharing/boosting etiquettes in the fediverse, I turned off all shared/boosted posts from others today. Surprisingly, my timeline became a lot more interesting, and now I am doubting the sense of sharing posts and social media in general...
